Robert Lemay has been working as a professional artist for over thirty years. Robert has been in many publications and exhibitions, and appears in collections around the world, including the Canadian Embassies in Beijing, China and Canberra, Australia. Robert began as a still life painter, but his work has evolved to include figure and portraiture. For Robert, painting is a poetic experience, and he paints nearly every day. Robert utilizes a grid process to create realistic images that are meant to reveal the abstraction of paint handling. He achieves this through meticulously hand painting square by square and row by row. Robert’s paintings are elegant, and they use dramatic shadows and bright lights to showcase the beauty and symbolism of flowers. Robert lives and creates in Edmonton, Alberta.
