Mary Parslow is a Peace Country artist who lives in Dawson Creek, British Columbia. Mary was born and raised near London, England. She loves to share and inspire and encourages herself and others in the many printmaking workshops she teaches across the Peace Region. Mary has her own studio where she performs different types of printmaking. Linocut is her favorite medium because of its ability to create transparent and opaque layers. She enjoys creating patterns and rhythms found in nature. Mary is inspired by the fineries of nature she finds all around her, the small beautiful moments that connect us all, the way the light hits the trees, butterflies, flowers, and other natural themes. Mary also incorporates metaphor and symbolism into her work. Mary graduated with a B.Ed. Degree in Studio Art and Education from Whitelands College in London England and the University of Victoria in British Columbia Canada with distinction. Her work has been shown nationally and internationally in Spain, England, and France. She is a Signature Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists (FCA) as well as the Peace River Chapter and has won numerous awards. Mary has also recently created her first children’s book: If I Could Go to Work with My Dad.
