Kato Rempel is a Kelowna, British Columbia based artist and instructor. She is a Senior Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, and an Elected Member of the Society of Canadian Artists. She worked in the graphic design industry for many years after which she studied foreign cultures, art, and architectural design in Sri Lanka and India. Kato works in both realism as well as abstract realism. Her figurative oil and acrylic paintings often express to the viewer a sense what is seen but also what exists in the world of our own thoughts. Her artwork tells a narrative of longing, connectiveness, intimacy, strength and womanhood. Kato is also inspired by the Bauhaus architectural movement. Her artwork can be found in many private collections worldwide.
