Description

Leap of Faith was commissioned as part of a cancer survivor sculpture garden.  The sculpture is a basalt column surrounded by tile with a stainless steel figure on top and leaping from it.  It is built in this garden as an inspirational place for people diagnosed with cancer to draw courage and help patients get to the other side.

Leap of faith explores the journey from diagnosis to landing and putting your health in the hands of the medical professionals.

The first figure in distress is at diagnosis. They are on their knees, isolated and looking over a cliff surrounded by water.

The second figure is standing and bravely taking that precarious leap into the hands of the medical professionals at the hospital.

The figures mid air are literally up in the air, hoping for the best outcome

The final figure lands safely in the hands where the best care will and has been given as the figure goes through the recommended course of action to get them healthy again.
