Lindsay Arcand is a lifelong resident of Grande Prairie, Alberta. She finds inspiration for her art from the property on which she was raised. Lindsay is also inspired by the Peace Country’s wildlife and landscapes. She had the opportunity to travel to Europe and experience art and architecture while in a design program. In 2015, Lindsay underwent open heart surgery and during her recovery she studied and achieved her Certificate of Interior Design which in turn influenced her to begin painting again. Lindsay found art to be a healing therapy, it offered a distraction and way to express herself. Lindsay was chosen as a featured member and her painting titled ‘Ruling the Wetlands’ was displayed at the Art Gallery of Grande Prairie. Lindsay was also awarded 1st Place in the Beauty of the Peace contest through the Grant Berg Gallery. Lindsay’s paintings are visually expressive and gestural. The wildlife she paints carries messages and emotions that can be applied to our own lives.
